You can use the zero conditional to talk about facts and truths.

Form of the ‘zero’ conditional

The structure of the zero conditional is:

IF + PRESENT SIMPLE, PRESENT SIMPLE

Examples:

  • If it rains, you get wet. (fact)
  • When water gets to 100 degrees, it boils. (fact)
  • When the temperature reaches -0 degrees, it snows. (fact0
  • My face turns red when I drink red wine. (truth)
  • When I excercise, I sweat. (truth)
