Adjectives are part of the four major word classes (nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives). In general, adjectives give us more information about people, animals and things. They modify or describe the features and qualities of people, animals and things (Carter, McCarthy, Mark and O’Keeffe, 2011). At its most simple, adjectives describe nouns.
For example:
- That’s a big horse.
- He is tall.
- The car is blue.
